What's New - Keeping Up

New Danbury Location for Breast Imaging and Care

Danbury Hospital has opened a new Breast Imaging Center at 20 Germantown Road in Danbury. Staffed by certified technologists and board-certified radiologists, this state-of-the-art facility provides all aspects of breast imaging and care from digital mammography ultrasound and bone densitometry to stereotactic-guided and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy services.

Valerie L. Staradub, MD, a fellowship-trained breast surgeon and Director of the Breast Care Program at Western Connecticut Health Network, said, "With the latest technology in breast cancer detection and a highly trained staff, the new Breast Imaging Center is committed to providing personalized service in a warm, comfortable setting. Screening mammography is often the initial point of access to the comprehensive services provided by the WCHN Breast Care Program.”

"As part of our integrated breast team, the Breast Navigator at the imaging center will help guide women through the diagnostic process, and if necessary partner with the Oncology Breast Navigator to assure exceptional care and support for our patients."

WCHN Breast Care Program, inclusive of services at both Danbury and New Milford hospitals, is recognized by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, and part of the cancer network that is Approved with Commendation by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer, for maintaining the highest standards for quality in cancer care.
