Dr. Koobatian to lead New Milford Hospital

New Milford Hospital's Director of Emergency Services, Dr. Thomas Koobatian, has added Executive Director to his title. Dr. Koobatian took the helm at the hospital June 1, when Deborah Weymouth left to become chief executive officer at Massachusetts Memorial Health Care. Formerly the hospital's chief of staff, and Director of Emergency Services, he has now taken over day-to-day clinical operations while retaining his other responsibilities.

Michael R. Grey, M.D., M.P.H. - Executive Medical Director for Primary Care.

The Western Connecticut Medical Group, Inc. appointed Michael R. Grey, M.D., M.P.H. as the Executive Medical Director for Primary Care.  Prior to joining WCMG, Dr. Grey was Chief of Medicine at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Dr. Grey’s office will be located in the Administration office at Berkshire Corporate Park in Bethel and he will begin seeing patients in the WCMG Primary Care office in Danbury.

Joseph Carofano Joins WCHN as New Vice President of Marketing and Communications

On August 18th, Joe Carofano will join Western Connecticut Health Network as the new Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Network, reporting to Lisa Brady, Senior Vice President of Strategy and System Development. Joe will be based at Norwalk Hospital, and will spend time at each hospital campus as needed.

Joe is an experienced healthcare marketing and communications professional with broad expertise, including the creation and implementation of market development strategies, change management, branding, and use of innovative digital communication tools. He comes to WCHN from Jensen Dental, a major provider of quality dental products, systems, education, and services for the dental lab industry, where he served first as VP of Marketing, and then as VP and General Manager. Among his roles at Jensen, Joe successfully led all corporate rebranding efforts – experience that will be particularly valuable to WCHN when we’re ready to launch a new brand for our Network.

Reporting directly to Joe are Michelle Bambino, Director of Marketing, Evelyn Jenkinson, Director of Communications, Maura Romaine, Director of Community Relations, and Andrea Rynn, Director of Public Affairs.

Over the next several weeks, Joe will be meeting with service line executives and other organizational leaders to develop our strategic marketing and communication plans for the coming fiscal year.
