Move Update on the Peter and Carmen-Lucia Buck Pavilion

Including New Physician Parking

(From Mike Daglio, Chief Operating Officer WCHN)

The construction phase of the new Pavilion has been completed. We are now in the process of preparing all of the floors for their inspections and moves from their Tower locations to their new Pavilion locations. Below are some key updates for you to share with your patients and office staff.

Floors Relocating from the Tower Building:

  • October 10, 2014: The current surgical floor on 10 Tower will be relocating to the 8th floor of the new Pavilion.
  • October 25, 2014: The current step down unit on 10 Tower will be relocating to the 7th floor of the new Pavilion.
  • October 26, 2014: The current ICU will relocate from 7 Tower to 7 Pavilion.
  • September 10, 2014: The current E.D. will relocate to the 6th floor of the New Pavilion.

Important Parking Changes:
The Rizzo (formerly “Blue”) Garage officially opened to the public on Tuesday, July 15th. There are new parking guidelines for employees, physicians, patients and visitors:

  • Level 2 is reserved for Medical Staff and valet parking staging (enter via Oasis driveway)
  • Employees, visitors and patients who prefer to “self-park” in the Rizzo Garage should enter from the driveway adjacent to the Broadview School field – which is also the Ambulatory Surgery Unit driveway. The “Oasis” driveway is reserved for valet parking for patients, visitors, special needs, and physician access only.
  • Level 3 is reserved for patients and visitors (enter via ASU driveway, adjacent to Broadview School fields)
  • Levels 4 and 5 are for day-shift hospital employees. There should be enough space to accommodate assigned employees.
  • The top level is reserved for employees working 3-11 p.m. and for medical students. An attendant will be on duty during shift change times for additional safety and security.

We are in the process of putting signage in place throughout the campus to better inform our visitors of the new locations. To help patients, visitors and employees find their way in the new space, a map of the expanded campus and directional scripting for the Danbury Hospital have been provided to volunteers, staff at the information desks.

Please let us know if you would like maps sent to your offices for your patients.
