Dr. Volpintesta Earns Leadership Award
Ed Volpintesta, MD of Bethel, earned the Leadership in Medical Advocacy award at this year’s Fairfield County Doctors of Distinction awards ceremony. The ceremony, sponsored by the Fairfield County Medical Association, Citrin Cooperman, and the Fairfield County Business Journal was held at Lockwood Mansion Museum in Norwalk.
Dr. Volpintesta, who has been in practice for 40 years, has invested much of his own time advocating with state legislators, chairing working groups, and raising awareness with the public for the need to reform statutes relating to physicians and their practices.
Dr. Volpintesta identified himself as a fighter for better treatment of doctors through legislative reform. “You have leaders and warriors,” he said. “I don’t consider myself a leader. I consider myself a warrior.”
