“Brevity is the soul of wit,” Polonius said in Hamlet but of course he never followed his own advice. I'm getting better and this edition of DOC-Line will be pared down, with core messages and valuable information that you can skip, skim, or read.

We will completely change the Doc-Line format this winter to make it more accessible.

• The Medical Staff Advisory Council activities
• The new mammogram guidelines
• Our IT challenges and plans
• PHO It’s time to really take this seriously---all of you
• The latest regarding the Medical Staff Engagement Survey which 339 of you completed. You ranked us higher in the challenge areas of recognition and communication, you saw only a little progress in our effort to partner with you and you sent a clear message about IT that we have a ways to go in supporting you.

So, clearly more to do. I do think the Advisory Councils and more communication in general have been an improvement. I hope you agree. Keep those cards and letters coming.
