The newly opened Danbury Hospital Medical Arts Center, designed to enhance the patient experience, is making a hit with patients – and doctors.
Patients are finding the Medical Arts Center conveniently located on the hospital campus with its own free parking lot. Comments show that they welcome the central check in and registration and that they no longer need to walk from one end of the hospital to the other for services, re-registering at each step.
Not surprising in today’s world, patients very much appreciate the availability of Wi-fi computer and Internet services in the large, homelike waiting areas. Food service will be available in December.
Pierre M. Saldinger, MD, chairman of the Department of Surgery and the Carmen and Peter Buck Chair in Surgical Oncology at Danbury Hospital, commenting on the Medical Arts Center said, “We doctors expected that the new proximity to each other and to our testing services would facilitate coordination of care and that’s turning out to be the case. The building itself is superb. And, of course, we are very pleased to hear the positive comments from our patients.”
