New Organization Structure for Network Operations

As a member of the Medical Staff you have an important stake in the organizational changes in hospital operations that have resulted from the affiliations.

With the affiliation of the three hospitals now complete, I would like to inform you of the organizational structure developed for the operations division within the hospital group. The new structure functions to ensure local senior operational support at each hospital, while fostering integrative collaboration among all of the clinical service departments and locations throughout the Network. As Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Network I am responsible for the operations of all of the clinical service lines and facilities. I will be spending roughly three days a week at Danbury Hospital, two days a week at Norwalk Hospital, and some days at New Milford Hospital.

I have appointed three senior operations leaders to oversee each facility and multiple service lines: Deborah Weymouth, Sr. VP of New Milford Hospital and Chief Integration Officer, Debra Carragher, VP of Operations for Danbury Hospital, and Jim Haynes, VP of Operations for Norwalk Hospital.

The Western Connecticut Health Network Physician Hospital Organization

We’re growing! The WCHN PHO Board has amended its bylaws to expand the PHO provider network to include Norwalk Hospital and the interested members of its medical staff. Recruitment of interested physicians affiliated with Norwalk Hospital to be PHO Members will begin in March.

The purpose of the PHO is to support WCHN, our Physician Members and their practices as we address the changing clinical, organizational and financial demands facing us.

The WCHN PHO, formed in 2011, now encompasses all three affiliated hospitals of WCHN Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital and Norwalk Hospital, along with more than 430 physician members.

The PHO has its own governing Board of Directors and an Executive Director to oversee operations. Director and Officer representation will be reviewed shortly to reflect the completion of the Norwalk Hospital affiliation. http://interactive.danburyhospital.org/Docline/documents/PHOBoard.pdf The PHO exists as a cornerstone element supporting WCHN’s strategies under the new realities of health care reform where health plans, employers and patients demand value.
