Cathy Frierson has joined WCHN as our new Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the Network, reporting directly to Dr. Murphy.

A message from Dr. John Murphy

I am pleased to announce that Cathy Frierson has joined Western Connecticut Health Network as our new Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the Network, reporting directly to me. She will have offices in both Danbury and Norwalk and maintain a presence at all key locations.

Cathy is a human resource executive with extensive experience managing HR teams across multiple industries – most recently with GE Capital in Norwalk. A proven change management leader, Cathy has successfully executed large scale business/cultural transformations and process improvements across large complex organizations. Her experience will help support the transformational business and process change underway across WCHN.

Additionally, Cathy has significant experience in employee engagement, staffing and retention, talent and leadership development, performance management and diversity. All of these skills will be instrumental as we build a high performance network and bring our new brand promise of "personalized care without compromise" to life.

A true advocate for employees, Cathy is committed to ensuring world-class delivery of HR support and services to employees across the Network so that staff can better serve our patients and community. Her initial focus will be on building a strong and unified HR team, strengthening HR business partnerships and ensuring HR process excellence.

Cathy holds a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Social Work, both from Boston College and Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University. She resides in Redding with husband Greg and three children – who were all born at Danbury Hospital!
