Danbury Hospital Earns Joint Commission’s Gold Seal® of Approval Certification for Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery
Danbury Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal® of Approval and certification renewal for its joint replacement and spine surgery program by demonstrating compliance with national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care. Danbury Hospital is a Joint Commission Center of Excellence in three Disease-Specific areas for surgery - hip replacement, knee replacement, and spine surgery, and has also achieved The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific certifications for its Primary Stroke Center and Palliative Care.
Danbury Hospital recently underwent a rigorous on-site view of its joint replacement and spine surgery program where Joint Commission surveyors evaluated the hospital for compliance with national disease-specific care standards in hip replacement, knee replacement, and spine surgery.
“Danbury Hospital has thoroughly demonstrated a high level of care for patients that require knee replacement, hip replacement, and spine surgery,” said Wendi J. Roberts, RN, executive director, Certification Programs, The Joint Commission. “We commend Danbury Hospital for becoming a leader in spine surgery and joint replacement, potentially providing a higher standard of service for patients in its community.”
