Norwalk Hospital Medical Affairs Update

The Bauer Emergency Care Center had a very successful opening on January 21, 2016. Patients and physicians alike appreciate the state-of-the-art equipment and enhanced privacy available in the new areas. Construction continues in the McGraw Center with the anticipated opening of the new GI lab in June and Medical Oncology in August.

Dr. Alan Meinke is serving as our Interim Chair of Surgery, and the search for the permanent Chair is underway. We are excited to have several strong internal and external candidates.

Our new secure, text messaging app, TigerText, has been rolled out to all of our Medical Staff and has been a big hit. If you haven’t signed on, please contact me at lewis.berman@wchn.org and I can get you connected.

As of January 18, 2016, we have started scanning the handwritten portions of the chart for all hospitalized patients. This means that the complete record of these patients admission is available in the Clinical Notes tab of PowerChart.
