Echocardiography Services Attains 4th ICAEL Accreditation
The Echocardiography Services at Danbury Hospital earned its 4th tri-annual ICAEL accreditation for all three echo services in all four of its laboratories.
Danbury Hospital stands as the first lab in Connecticut and one of only a few in the country to successfully complete the accreditation process of all three of its services; Transthoracic echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography and Transesophageal echocardiography. ICAEL accreditation is a demanding process requiring echo labs to demonstrate quality performance as well as quality assurance. The Echo lab now has four accredited sites - at Danbury Hospital, the Danbury Hospital Medical Arts Center, the Southbury Cardiovascular Center, and Ridgefield Cardiology. The lab staff completed the accreditation under the direction of Allison Deitz, Echocardiography Laboratory Team Leader/Supervisor.
